In accordance with the IB/MYP philosophy you are becoming an inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young person who helps to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect (from IB mission statement). Your portfolio and exit interview will both document and reflect this growth. In order to give you the extra listening, speaking, reading and writing practice you will need for IB/MYP, you will do the devoirs posted on the Wikispace when assigned. I will collect and grade the notebook using a rubric and grade some of the activities. These will be a part of your assignment grades. The notebook counts as a exam/project grade which is in the 40% category.
  • You will need a three-ring binder with a tab for each month.
  • You will need to buy a new 90 minute cassette tape. Put your name on the case and the cassette tape.
  • You will have a log to indicate the date you did the activity, the name of the activity, the score on the activity (if available) and a parent's signature. Download this form from this page.
  • You will keep all associated activities or projects in the notebook. I will check activities and record the grades for those activities. I also will mark scores from any activity where you took an online quiz.
  • All papers and activities must be hole punched and fit in your notebook. They must be put in your notebook in the order they appear on the wikispace.
  • Remember to carefully follow instructions. This is one of the skills needed to be an independent learner as described by the IB/MYP profile.
  • This portfolio should be professional looking and care taken to completely do the activities in a professional manner. Download the rubric and the log on this page and insert it in your notebook.
  • YYou must also refer to your learner profile/approaches to learning sheet when writing reflections. (lime green paper)
  • Download this page and also check off the activities as you do them.
